Proposal:
Throughout the duration of studying BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance the artist has been continuing to practice and develop their techniques by working in collaborative projects to strengthen their portfolio as a professional.
With the area of interest and passion leading towards the fashion and beauty genre, further collaborations in this pathway will need to be achieved to lead into correct branding as a make-up artist.
First hand research will begin by looking into established fashion and beauty make-up artists and identify how they brand themselves through business websites and social media. By evaluating how these sources have been used effectively or ineffectively will help to enable the artist to professionally present a more strong and sharper media of business network (LO1).
Key areas of business promotion that the artist will be developing are a business website, business cards, social media networks, Curriculum Vitae and a portfolio. With this being a continuing development the artist will begin by evaluating their current pieces in more depth by comparing these aspects to the research of established make-up artists and critically reflect what elements need to be improved on. Investigation will also be needed into website/business card creators in both online creators and independent designers to identify which is most cost appropriate. Professional printing will also need to be researched into both quality and cost that is appropriate for the artist’s portfolio. To keep on top of budgeting throughout all units of level 6 a budget of £70 has been given to cover any expenses needed for resources for the duration of this unit. (LO2)
To continue progression of employment a personal development plan will be created in which goals will be set to achieve professional progression and work time effectively.  Throughout this unit a blog will be used to show the pathway of this unit social media such as Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram will not only be used as research tools into fashion and beauty make-up but to also show the artists own work to use as a platform for a wider audience.
